Coach Branon is in his 3rd year with Maverick Aquatics and 5th year of coaching overall. Primarily working with the Red and Gold groups, he has guided athletes to state and zone cuts as well as multiple new team records! Branon has served on Indiana Swimming Catch the Sprit and Age Group Memorial camp staffs.
Before MVA, he served two long course seasons as an assistant coach for the Frankfort Site of Sugar Creek Swim Club. He also spent three summers with the Frankfort Swim Club in a variety of roles including Head Coach.
Branon is currently a Senior at Purdue University majoring in Management and Marketing with a concentration in International Business.
Coach Alex is a 2011 McCutcheon High School graduate and recent graduate of IUPUI with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a very accomplished swimmers at MHS qualifying for the state meet multiple times and still holds MHS records in the 200 IM, 100 Breast, and 400 Free Relay. Alex began his swimming career at Purdue University before transferring. At IUPUI, he was a Summit League finalist and finished his career ranked 2nd (200 IM), 2nd (400 IM), and 3rd (200 Breast) on the school’s all time rankings.
I graduated from McCutcheon in 2013, previously attending Central Catholic. I attended Indiana University in Bloomington for two years, participating with the IU Swim Club there. I am now a junior at Purdue University, majoring in Hospitality and Tourism Management. I swam competetively for about 10 years, and I continue to swim with the Purdue Swim Club. I have previously been a lifeguard at Tropicanoe Cove and the West Lafayette Municipal pool. I have also taught swim lessons for Swim America and private lessons at the WLMP.
Angela hails from California where she swam competitively on the Woodland Swim Team for 10 years. She also worked as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, and Water Aerobics Instructor for the City of Woodland and coached swimmers in the Down Syndrome Information Alliance to prepare them for the Special Olympics.
Angela is majoring in Movement & Sport Sciences at Purdue and is very involved on campus. She is the Head Coach for Purdue Swim Club, works Meet Management at Purdue Swim Meets, and is the CPR Programs Coordinator and works in Risk Management at the Cordova Recreational Center.
